This style uses a light cream and long, flowing strokes as well as kneading and friction techniques to encourage relaxation and reduce muscle tension. This method has been shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving circulation. It often helps to reduce both physical and emotional stress.

Although all massage is therapeutic, I use this term for sessions that will include deeper work. A combination of techniques will be employed to encourage both relaxation and relieve chronic muscle tension. "Deep tissue techniques" (Ex: Myofascial work, Trigger Point work and other deep muscle applications, focus on the release of chronic patterns of tension in the body using slow, focused strokes and deep pressure to release adhesions and contracted areas of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia.
