Education & Experience
I have worked in the medical field since 1984, first as a Respiratory Therapist, working in emergent care moving on to a career in Massage Therapy in 1993. My calling as a massage therapist came when I was inspired to combine my love of studying medicine, my desire to focus more on wellness than illness and my love of working creatively with my hands.
In an attempt to humorously define me or perhaps my penchant for taking on things for which I might surprisingly have the skills to accomplish, my family and friends (and clients) refer to me as a “jack of trades,” with endless interests, projects and thirst to know something about everything.
Your Massage Session
In session I like to incorporate various massage modalities (relaxation techniques, trigger point work, myofascial release techniques) to design therapeutic sessions that meet each client where they are at and progress with their individual goals in mind, be they more relaxation or rehabilitative in nature. As such I consider the body in its wholistic complexity while also breaking down issues into an incremental and solution focused treatment.
Pathway to healing
Ultimately in our journey together I want you to know that your intelligent body is the powerful healer. In our sessions my techniques open pathways and decompress tension in both the muscles and mind but it is your body that will take the effects of that treatment and do some amazing healing work.
Since my early years as a massage therapist I have been steeped in and have incorporated the art of compassionate business, non competitive practice and client focused care that have remained with me throughout my career.
Professional Association
I am a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
